Job Description Messer Construction Co., a regional construction firm with 2007 sales of $650 million, is currently seeking an experienced candidate to fill the role of Public Relations Manager in our Cincinnati, OH corporate office. As a Public Relations Manager you will work collaboratively with the Marketing Director and regional Vice Presidents to establish PR goals, strategies and tactics for Messer Construction Co. You will express ideas clearly, concisely and in a well-organized manner while engaging and building rapport with your audience to create "partnerships" with community leaders and media in order to generate long term business. You will accomplish this by: - Creating and driving the public relations plan
- Oversee tactical execution against plans
- Anticipate and monitor relevant industry and media trends
- Develop, grow and leverage media relationships for positive coverage
- Serve as a company spokesperson; coach regional "executive" spokespersons
- Maintain thorough knowledge of current ongoing and new projects to market the most exciting stories, news, and developments to advance and protect Messer's brand and reputation
- Track and report on key success criteria, manage budgets and reporting
- Evaluate customer research, market conditions, and competitor data and use to implement changes to overall public relations plan as needed
- Serve as leadership role within the Department and pro-actively work to enhance its overall effectiveness and positive contribution to Messer
- Collaborate and network with departments, cross-divisional peers, non-profit support organizations, customers, and industry contacts to strengthen our connection to the community
For consideration, candidates must possess the following: - You should be a self-starter, goal oriented, strategic thinker, and passionate about Public Relations
- 4 year degree in Business, Communications or related field.
- 5-7 years of public relations experience
- Project management, leadership and decision making skills
- Exceptional writing, editing and verbal skills
- Must be results oriented
- Strategically execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong media relations skills
- Relationship building skills along with ability to influence others at all levels of the organization are essential
